Central Austin includes neighborhoods surrounding downtown Austin. Since Austin is the Capital of Texas, there are many State buildings as well as offices that work with the State Government. The University of Texas is also near downtown Austin. These neighborhoods are popular with people who work in downtown Austin and do not like the commute from the suburbs.
