Rosedale is one of the cutest neighborhoods in Central Austin. Many of the houses are brick or frame cottages that have been restored or expanded. Because of its location in Central Austin, property values are high. Many of the houses have been torn down and replaced with newer homes, most keeping the quaint style that gives Rosedale its charm
Rosedale is in the heart of Austin and because of its proximity to several medical establishments and hospitals, it’s one of the most convenient places for medical personnel to live. Rosedale is just west of North Lamar Boulevard and north of 38th Street. Shoal Creek is on the west side.
If you’re looking for a place to eat, you’ll find many excellent places on the south and east sides of Rosedale. Kirby Lane Café, EZ’s, Central Market…these are just a sampling of the wealth of restaurants and cafes. And now there’s a high-end hardware store at Central Market called Zingers. The 26 Doors shopping center is just around the corner.
Rosedale has a park with a pool, tennis courts, and a playground for children. Ramsey Park is a great neighborhood gathering place. It has that small, hometown feeling that many Austin parks don’t have.
